After studying philosophy at university, John found great difficulty in gaining full time employment as a working philosopher. So the next best choice was advertising. And when John found out that you could actually get paid to think, he wiggled his way into the strategy planning department.

Since then, John has continually pushed Plato’s theory of Philosopher Kings (i.e., the best thinker should also be the leader) so much so that he finally got a management position when the CEO got sick of listening and made him Managing Director of Melbourne in 2006. John also lectures at RMIT University and for relaxation, attempts of variety of water based activities including sailing, rowing and a very poor attempt at body surfing.
